Pirates
And Treasures Tour
The Pirates and Treasures Tour is a one
and one-half hour walking tour of the downtown St. Augustine area
led by a pirate or damsel guide (and the students themselves!). A
number of clues are given at each stop of the tour. The students
must figure out their next destination by the clues provided, and
guess the location of the treasure chest at the end!
A colorful historical lecture is given
along the way. At its conclusion, each student receives his or her
own "gold doubloon."
For religious schools, this is a great
alternative to a "ghost tour."
Can be combined with any other tour or
itinerary. E-mail Gold Coast for more information

Off The
Beaten Path Tour
Visit the Mission Nombre de Dios, and then tour the Castillo de San
Marcos' ("The Fort") interior and perimeter. Gold Coast tour guides
are licensed by The National Park Service to give historically
accurate tours of the Castillo and its beautiful grounds. From here,
you'll walk with your Gold Coast tour guide down the bay front to
the Spanish Military Hospital, where you'll see and learn about
patient care in St. Augustine during the Spanish period: 1784-1821.
A break for lunch at the Jesterville Grille, with time for shopping
at the Toy Company, will bring you playfully back into the 21st
century. After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the
Ximenez-Fatio House, and then the Father O'Reilly House and Museum,
before a game of 18-hole putt-putt golf at the Bayfront Putt-Putt
Golf course. An hour of shopping on St. George Street puts a nice
finish on this all-day tour.
